Fact post

This is a vegetable escabiche: lightly pickled carrots, onion, garlic and chilli with cinnamon, allspice and other nice slightly tongue-numbing things. It is delicious and you normally get a couple of new potatoes in it, but Kate ate them before I could get a photo.
